What to Pack for a Rustic Treehouse Night

April 28, 2026

Our off-grid units are simple on purpose. Here's how to make a night at the Birdie or an A-frame feel like a five-star adventure.

The Birdie and our A-frame cabins are intentionally off-grid: no running water, a private outhouse, solar-powered lighting, and a short hike in from the lot. That simplicity is the whole point — but a little preparation turns roughing it into the good kind of magic.

Bring a headlamp, layers (mountain nights are cold even in summer), a refillable water jug, sturdy shoes for the walk in, a couple of 1-lb propane tanks for the grill, and a cooler for anything you want kept cold. Bedding and fire pits are already there.

Leave behind the expectation of a hotel and you'll find something better: woodsmoke, dark skies, and the kind of star-filled night you forget exists. We'll shuttle your gear up by ATV — you just bring the sense of adventure.
