Tucked into the mountain above the disc golf course stands a 50-foot lookout tower — five stories of stairs that open onto a 360° view of the lakes and the White Mountains. It's the first thing returning guests run back to.

The easiest approach is from the 11th hole of the disc golf course, where a short trail leads up to the base. Climb slowly; the view rewards a few pauses, and the canopy thins as you rise until the whole region opens up around you.

At the top, ring the bell. It's a tradition older than us, and on a clear evening — with the light going gold over the ridgelines — it's about the finest five minutes you can have on the property.
