A treehouse resort on the edge of the White Mountain National Forest

In The Trees is a 56-acre treehouse and glamping property in Stoneham, in the White Mountains of western Maine, directly bordering the White Mountain National Forest. Two year-round treehouses — the two-story Grand Oak and the elevated Spruce Suite — each have a private, covered hot tub, a propane fireplace, heat and air conditioning, and a private firepit under the canopy. Four off-grid stays — the Birdie treehouse and the Bogey, Beech and Birch A-frames — open May through October with real beds, private outhouses, firepits and a complimentary UTV shuttle that carries guests and their gear.

The property's 18-hole mountain disc golf course is free for overnight guests, and a five-story summit tower looks out across the lakes to the White Mountains. Three lakes sit within about five miles. Owners Gwen and Josh took over in 2026 after eight-plus years hosting travelers in Bend, Oregon, and are steadily elevating the experience while protecting what makes the place special. About three hours from Boston.
