Where

White Mountains, Maine

Where are you, exactly?

On 56 wooded acres in the White Mountain National Forest region — 859 Maine Street, Stoneham, Maine. The WMNF is the destination; Stoneham is the address.

When is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes — a two-night minimum across all units. Rates shown are 'from' starting prices; final pricing, fees, and taxes are confirmed in the booking flow.

Which units are open year-round?

The Grand Oak and The Spruce Suite are full-service and open all four seasons, with heat, A/C, and running water. The Birdie, Bogey, Beech, and Birch are rustic and available seasonally.

What are the rustic units like?

Intentionally simple and adventurous: no running water, private outhouses, solar/12v power, and hike-in access. Bedding, fire pits, and grills are provided — the rustic units use 1-lb propane tanks, which you'll bring — and we'll shuttle your gear up by ATV. Pack like you're heading somewhere wonderful and a little wild.

Which units have heat and A/C?

The Grand Oak and The Spruce Suite have heat for winter and A/C for summer. The rustic treehouse and A-frame cabins do not have heat or A/C, which is why they run seasonally from May through October.

Are pets allowed?

One dog is welcome in each of our off-grid units — The Beech, The Birch, The Bogey, and The Birdie — with a pet fee and deposit. To keep our full-service treehouses in top shape, pets aren't permitted in The Grand Oak or The Spruce Suite. Just let us know when you book.

Is it a good fit for families with kids?

The Grand Oak is our most family-friendly stay — 1,200 sq ft over two floors sleeping up to 7, plus an on-site playground the kids love. The loft futon fits one adult or two small children, so families with little ones can sleep 8. The Spruce Suite works well for small families of up to 4, while our rustic off-grid cabins are better suited to couples and adult adventurers.

Is disc golf included?

Yes — our 18-hole mountain course is free for everyone staying in any treehouse or cabin. Visitors play all day for $8. If you need discs, our office store carries new and used discs (no rentals).

Is there Wi-Fi?

There's Wi-Fi for the basics in the full-service treehouses. We'd gently encourage you to use this as a place to get outside and unplug rather than a base for a heavy work trip.

How do I get there, and where do I park?

We send detailed directions with your booking. Some units are drive-up; the rustic units involve a short hike from the parking area over natural terrain, so bring sturdy footwear — and we'll move your bags by ATV if you'd like a hand.

What should I bring for an off-grid stay?

Sturdy shoes, bug spray, and warm layers for cool nights. Since the off-grid units run on limited 12V solar power with no Wi-Fi or cell service, bring a charged power bank for photos, downloaded maps, and emergency phone use. Each rustic grill uses 1-lb propane tanks, so bring a couple. For drinking water: The Birdie and The Bogey have a filtration system on site, while for The Beech and The Birch you should plan to bring your own. Each unit has a private firepit — collect dead or downed wood where available, or bring your own bundled firewood.
